In the city of San Jose, Costa Rica the Pan American Chess tournament was held from the 14th to the 18th of December, students from our campus Javier Navarrete Tutiven, Sergio Murillo Coloma and Mathias Piechestein Ruíz, in the company of Miss Fatima Macancela as coach participated in this tournament.

Two bronze medals were achieved in the following categories:

Sub 7 by Mathias Piechestein.

Sub 9 by Sergio Murillo.

These students represented Colegio Americano of Guayaquil and simultaneously Ecuador, our country was ranked in third place in the tournament.
