6-THE COLEGIO AMERICANO AND ITS NEW AGREEMENTS
Agreement with the UEES
We are happy to inform the teaching staff, parents, students and all of the community that last year on the 23rd of November we signed an agreement with the Espiritu Santo University (UEES). which applies clauses stipulating the recognition of credits for our graduates with IB diplomas or certificates in the different IB subjects taught in the Colegio Americano.
The young people who graduate from the Colegio Americano and whose GPA is in the top 25% of their class can register in the UESS without going through the pre-university course and only taking the required entrance exams.
At an earlier date, agreements were signed with the following universities.
Agreement with the Jefferson University of Guayaquil and Jefferson International College
On September 30th, an agreement was signed with the Jefferson University of Guayaquil and Jefferson International College. We signed an agreement that allows our students to receive credits for the subjects: Introduction to Marketing, Accounting, Pre-algebra and/or Algebra, Algebra and Calculus or Algebra and Math Studies (Standard Level) and Math Methods (Standard Level).
Agreement of Academic Cooperation with the Technological Business University of Guayaquil (UTEG) and the International Baccalaureate Program in the Colegio Americano de Guayaquil
The students in the IB program can request admission exams in the subjects of the pre-admission course and enter directly into the career programs. The courses and credits that they are required to take are those that form part of the basic design, which forms part of the agreement and will be done on an individual basis to obtain any of the degrees offered by the UTEG.
The best graduates in the IB Program in each specialization can receive scholarships given by the UTEG. The graduates of the IB Program at the Colegio Americano de Guayaquil, having demonstrated sufficient knowledge of English, will be automatically exonerated from all of the required credits in English, at no cost to the students.
Agreement with the University of the Pacific - Business School (UNPAC)
The UNPAC will give credits and validate the subjects mentioned in the agreement between the UJNPAC and the International Baccalaureate Organization, based on the pensum in effect at present in the IB program in the Colegio Americano de Guayaquil, and it will also accept the subjects MKT FOUNDATIONS OF MARKETING and CON 101 PRINCIPLES OF ACCOUNTING, even if the students do not receive the certificate or diploma. This validation will be carried out based on the parameters established in the agreement.
We are especially pleased to announce these alliances because they are a recognition of the high academic quality with which the Colegio American forms its students, and especially because of the IB Program.
Finally, we hope that these and the other agreements that are in the making will be an expeditious means of college entrance for all of our graduates. |
